Online Communications Associate, Sr. Associate or Project Manager

Reports to: Director of Online Communications

Alliance Background:
Founded in 2006 by Former Vice President Al Gore, the Alliance for Climate Protection is a unique single-purpose organization committed to igniting public action to help solve the climate crisis. The international scientific community is in agreement that we have only a short time to act in order for the next generation to inherit a healthy earth. However, while public awareness is now high, urgency and a sense of solvability remain alarmingly low. Without public support to solve the climate crisis, U.S. leadership will not address the issue domestically and negotiation of an effective international treaty will be impossible.

Until people in the U.S. and around the world insist that effective climate policies are an urgent priority, many governments will continue to delay. To remedy this, the Alliance is launching an unprecedented large-scale campaign to build overwhelming public support for the most far-reaching climate policies achievable. Over a short time period, the Alliance will compel hundreds of millions of people to demand action from their leaders to halt the climate crisis.

Position Summary:
Helping support online communications activities, including advocacy, marketing, social networking and email communications.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
• Developing and implementing online fundraising and advocacy strategies
• Managing our presence on social networking tools
• Writing and updating Alliance and campaign website content
• Supporting our email and mobile lists
• Writing creative emails and SMSs
• Developing interactive online elements
• Analysis and metric-tracking
• A variety of other tasks in a start-up atmosphere

Required Skills and Abilities:
• The ideal candidate is ambitious, creative, flexible, has knowledge of the space, and is extremely detail-oriented.
• The ideal candidate will have some experience in online communications, ideally with CRMs and CMSs.
• This will be an amazing experience for someone who wants to be part of an exciting campaign and evolve their online communications skill set. Position is available immediately.
